Bilingual French and English Answering Service

Our bilingual French and English answering service takes the calls your team can't, day and night. We set up two phone Agents for your shop, one French and one English. Each speaks a single language, so your caller is never answered through a translation. The booking goes into your calendar, and the confirmation text arrives in the caller's language.

5.0 on Google, 16 ratings, as of October 28, 2026. French and English Agents answering for Garage Lebreton Krown in Gatineau and Detail My Ride in Ottawa.

  • Each language has its own Agent, set up around your shop.
  • The greeting says "For English, press two." The caller picks the language and the Agent never guesses.
  • Booking notes reach your team in your language, and texts to customers follow the customer's.

A caller who can't find their language moves on

Your team goes back and forth between French and English without thinking about it. A voicemail doesn't. A French speaker who gets an English-only recording, or an English speaker stuck in a French menu, can hang up and call another shop.

It happens at the edges of your day: lunch, evenings, weekends, and any hour when both bays are busy. In Gatineau, Ottawa and the rest of the Outaouais, a shop that takes calls in both languages needs a bilingual voice at those hours.

N. 03

What your caller hears, step by step

This is a French-first line, with Garage Lebreton Krown in Gatineau as the example. You choose which language answers first.

1

The French Agent picks up.

The greeting names the shop and includes one English line: "For English, press two."

2

French callers keep talking.

The French Agent speaks Quebec French and says vous. It books the job into your calendar and texts the confirmation in French.

3

English callers press 2.

A short line tells them they're being handed over, and the English Agent takes the call.

4

The text follows the call.

The confirmation goes out in the language the caller used.

What the Agents don't do

  • They don't guess the language from speech. An English sentence spoken to the French Agent doesn't switch the call. Only the key does.
  • They never change language on their own partway through a call.
  • Apart from the one routing line in the greeting, an Agent never speaks the other language.

We chose the key because speech recognition can mishear a word, and a wrong switch can ruin a call. A key press arrives as a digit, so there's nothing to mishear.

That has a cost. An English speaker who ignores the greeting stays with the French Agent. If most of your callers speak English, we put the English Agent first and the key points to French.

N. 05

Why each language gets its own Agent

Your French caller talks to an Agent that listens for French and answers in French. Your English caller talks to one that listens for English and answers in English. Nothing is translated on the fly between them.

The French Agent is set to Canadian French and speaks Quebec French. It uses the words your customers use, like antirouille and pneus, and it says vous. We build both Agents around your shop's services, hours and calendar.

N. 06

What your team gets

Every booking lands in your calendar with the job and the vehicle, whichever language the call was in.

We can write the booking notes in your working language. At Garage Lebreton Krown they're in French on every call, including calls that ran in English.

A customer's text follows the customer. If they called or wrote in French, the text is French. If we have no history with a number, the text goes out in your shop's main language. It is never half French and half English.

What owners ask about a bilingual answering service

How does the Agent know which language my caller speaks?

It doesn't guess. The greeting names the key for the other language, and the key sets the language. Speaking the other language doesn't switch the call, because speech recognition can mishear a word and a wrong switch can ruin a call.

What happens if an English caller never presses 2?

They stay with the French Agent. If most of your callers speak English, we put the English Agent first and the key points to French instead. Detail My Ride's line, for example, opens in English.

Is the French real Quebec French, or a generic French voice?

The French Agent is set to Canadian French, speaks Quebec French and says vous to callers. Nothing is translated from English on the fly.

Can the Agent switch languages in the middle of a call?

Not on its own. A caller who wants the other language presses the key again, and the other Agent takes over. Each Agent speaks only its own language, apart from the one routing line in the greeting.

What language are the texts in?

The customer's. A text goes out in the language the customer used on the call or in their last message, never half French and half English. If we have no history with a number, it goes out in your shop's main language.

Can you add a third language?

Detail My Ride's line has an Arabic Agent next to its English and French ones. Name the language you need when you book the demo, and we'll say whether we can set it up.

How is this different from a bilingual answering service staffed by people?

A person can move between two languages inside one conversation. Our Agents can't. What you get instead is an answer at any hour, a booking in your calendar and a confirmation text without anyone on your team touching it. If you need someone to interpret between two people on the same call, a person is the better fit.

How much does it cost?

Setup is paid once, then there's a monthly fee for each location. There's no contract, and if you're not satisfied with the product or the service in the first 30 days, you get your money back. The Pricing page has the terms.

N. 09

Who this fits

It fits shops and local service businesses in Gatineau, Ottawa and the Outaouais that take calls in both languages and lose some of them when the team is busy or closed. If nearly all your callers speak one language, one Agent is enough, and we'll tell you so on the demo call.

It doesn't fit a business that needs one voice to translate between two people in the same conversation. A person does that better.
